Moving to STX in August with my brand new, state of the art wife (coming up on 2 weeks!). Already have a place to live, jobs, and money for when things inevitably go south. (fingers crossed) We have a reliable jeep wrangler that we're trying to get from Connecticut to St Croix. From what I've read, I need to get it to Miami first, and then VI Cargo may be the best way to go. Does anybody know of any stateside services that I could use to get it to Miami? Also, approximately how much will shipping cost from florida to St. Croix and how long will it take? So much helpful advice and information on this forum 🙂

It's probably easier to ship the car from the New York metro area directly to STX. I don't have a specific company to recommend, but you could use a full service moving company and let them handle the logisitics. In our case (7 years ago from NJ to STX), we called around NJ and had trouble finding a local company to handle the move, so we asked our moving expeditor on STX (Lee Fleming of Fleming Transport, not sure if he's still doing this) to suggest a company, and that worked. Ours was a 40' container move (household goods + car), but there are companies that specialize in just moving the car.

We moved from ct a few years ago. We drove the van florida (where we visited family members) then dropped it off with Tropical Shipping. They were professional, security was a little scary; they did a good job to St Thomas. After that, I don;t know. Don't leave anything in the vehicle.
