Getting a Seniors Card

Good Day, since I am 62, I have been told that I qualify, and should get, a seniors card. Having this card, I am told, will get me discounts on various goods and services: such as food (at only some grocery stores), the ferry to St. John, movie theater and the like. It was even said that K-mart offers some sort of special discount when presenting this card on certain days of the week, but I've not verified that yet. Questions: 1. where does one go to get this card?, 2. would it be a good idea to phone to find out the hours the card signing up place is open? 3. is there a long waiting period once you have "applied" for it? Thanks folks. Absolutely loving livin here...was pretty sure I might!

Paul,

Try calling Senior Citizen Affairs at 774-5265 and asking where to get the card and then do find out what time they open and what documents you need to bring with you and the turn around time.
