Ok here it goes. i absolutely hate to fly and am considering moving to the island for good. do any of you know if ships or boats leave from florida to stx or stt or even puerto rico. i know that catching a ferry from stt or puerto rico is no problem. I guess this sounds crazy to some, but i had a real bad experiance on a plane once and swore i would never fly again. there must be a way. i guess in the end if i have to fly i'll just have to bite the bullet. thanks in advance.

Hello John,
You could try booking a cruise that starts in Florida and that stops in St. Thomas as part of its itenary. I don't know how it works but that would be your only real option.
Other then that you could try getting in touch with cargo vessels and see about working on it and getting off in St. Thomas or PR. Or as crew on a yacht/boat heading this way. I don't know who you would contact to find out about these.
Look up some cruises.

When do you plan to be wanting to go? I may be taking a yacht there later in the year out of leaving Miami. Do you have any boating experience (driving/navigating)? I might be looking for a few folks to make the trip because we would have to do shifts of 4 hours to keep watch since it's a 24-hour/day operation to move a yacht that far. It won't be a fast trip as the vessel only cruises at 8.5 knots.
