Got Carried Away Ordering from Amazon

Recently, I ordered some large items from Amazon and marveled at how efficientl and cost effective it was to have VI Cargo handle the shipping. So then I ordered a bunch of small stuff from Amazon averaging between $5 and $30. The whole order was less than $200. I selected the option that goes something like "combine packages for the lowest shipping rate". Lo and behold, it comes in 6 different boxes and the shipping charge is $100 through VI Cargo.

I'm not complaining about VI Cargo because, let's face it, they have to go through a certain amount of paperwork and handling for each box. As a matter of fact, I love the flexibility that VI Cargo gives you to order ANYTHING, I guess that's a lesson ordering small things through multiple vendors (the stuff was sold by Amazon AND its affiliates). So really I only have myself to blame.

BTW--I was talking to the warehouse guy and he said that VI Cargo handles lots of book orders from Amazon. Which is a little bit surprising since Amazon will ship books directly to the VI.

Why did you send small stuff to vi cargo? Amazon will ship everything but electronics to your po box.

Betty - I ordered some screws, drill bits, binoculars, Swiss army knife, first aide kit, etc. D'oh! Thank you for correcting my understanding about what they will ship. I was thinking they only shipped books and media to the island....

PS - Honest, i do use the forum search feature (sometimes)

I tired to ship some instant tea and frontline flea treatment direct and Amazon wouldn't allow me to do it.
