I got my solar electric installation rebate check today. I was very unsure I would get anything back, but it did happen.I got 1/2 of my total investment back as a check from the Lt. Governor. It wasn't cheap, but in these times it seemed the thing to do.

Good for you. You may be one of the last as they VI Energy office has no more money for solar rebates and don't expect to get anymore.

It may not have been cheap but it will pay for itself in very little time. Now you get to take a tax deduction of 30% of it.

I am waiting for mine. The $$ were from a grant from the federal government, not from revenues in the VI.

My meter spinds backwards during the day. SO SCREW WAPA!!!!!!!!!!!

WAPA is driving us to do things like solar power. And their rates are only going to go up and there is no end in sight as Mr. Hodge has no reason to change. He will bring the VI to its knees as power rates are ONLY 5 times the national average and three times the rate on PR.

Let him defend his leadership.

If Obama gets relected there will be an other green energy offer. I hope to put wind mills in next if it happens. As more more and more people get energy from other means WAPA will get less and less of our money.

Contacted the VI Energy office today as their website indicated that the VI Rebate was still in effect. Well, like usual, bad information. I spoke to them a couple of months ago and they said that they did not have any more funds for this program and did not expect to have any for 2012.

Well, today they they said that they received a grant (I think it is really called a federal handout) that they need to review and it would likely be October (did not specify which year) that they would make a decision.

We are installing a net metering system now but it won't count as the installation has be be within 30 days of the request for the rebate.

There remains a 30% credit from the federal governement so that helps.

Also decreases our general dependence on foreign fuel supplies! Good for the consumer, good for the nation, good for the environment!!
