"A" for effort. He's going to be contacting Apple and Microsoft because they have plants in Iceland but the USVI can offer so many more tax incentives and we have an incredible broadband service second only to that in NYC. Really. Oh and more building expansion - we've got the Ritz and the Marriott names and we're looking at the Hyatt now (didn't they just pull out of the controversial proposed Mandahl project?) and, heck, our huge deficit is less than it was 12-14 years ago so no worries. OK.

I wish someone would get out and fix the damned roads. Going out now is a constant battle avoiding massive axle-thumping and tire-swallowing craters. Never mind all that, let's just reel in all the investors (oh yes, we've sorted out all those pesky EDC issues with the Feds) and carry on building more and more.

The roads in St. Thomas are like the autobahn in comparison to most of our roads here on St. Croix. Not to brag, but the dept. or tourism is thinking of turning some of our pot holes into tourist attractions. We only get new paving on half a strip of road every year on the weekend (overtime) before the triathlon. If that ever ceases we'll never see another paving truck, well unless you count the small section of highway they like to pave multiple times over and over again.

Here's a not so far out idea - how about UVI start a training program for road building apprentices. We could fly trainees down from the states and they could use our roads for their practice and exams. Surely they couldn't do a worse job than most of our roads are already in.

That is a great idea, but wrong school. Maybe the Adult Learning Centers or high school apprentice program.

Thanks - My goal in life is to win the internet. But I've got tough opposition when O.T. picks up the gauntlet. 😎

And there I thought this thread was about Mapp's TV appearance. I'm earning my moron/jackass badge very quickly and gained lots of points mentioning potholes. 😀

how nice, they don't need to cut spending they just need to bring in more money. The typical answer of someone that has no damn idea of how to make money create jobs or make a profit.
