Great experience with a local moving company

Hi,

For those who might be looking for information on local moving companies, I just wanted to mention that I very recently had an excellent experience with "The Viking Corporation" on STT.

Don Collins, his wife Sharon, and his office manager Agnes were all great to work with and provided us with first-rate service for our long-distance move. Our shipment was delivered to our home as promised and at exactly the time we requested. During the planning process, all of my questions were answered promptly and thoroughly and there was never any waiting to obtain information. Their follow-up during and after the move was excellent as well.

We arranged with Crowley on our own to have our cars shipped, but decided to use Viking for the "processing" (i.e., customs clearance, titling, registration, etc., etc,). Even though I did not arrange with Viking to do this for us until I had confirmed that our cars had arrived on island, our cars were ready and available for pick-up within 24 hours.

Thanks also to the posters on this board who have provided a wealth of excellent information. Without having this board as a resource, I doubt that our move would have gone as smoothly as it did.

Thanks again everyone 🙂 🙂 :)!

Hi Whatoozy (and anyone else who is making the big move),

I learned a lot during this whole moving process, so if you have any other questions I am happy to share what I have learned so far :)!

I know that there are a lot of moving companies out there who do a fine job, but IMHO Viking is excellent.

Don Collins has been in the moving business on STT for 29 years, and it shows. This part of our move was about as painless and worry-free as it possibly could have been. I sort of stumbled upon Viking by accident, which is why I figured I would post my .02 about my moving experience on the board.

That's what it's all about mell...thanks. And I know Don appreciates the props for a job well done. It'll be 6 mos. to a year before I'll need him, but I'll be giving him a call. Still gotta lot of loose ends here. I'll just be glad when I can schedule my pmv. Hopefully won't be much longer.
