Hi everyone! I posted on this board last year when we were about to move to St Thomas. We have been here for nearly a year now, and unfortunately, are about to move again to New Hampshire! The upcoming move made me start thinking about what we would miss and what I wished I had known when we first got here.

The biggest thing I wish I had discovered earlier is the Mommy group that meets every Wednesday at the Tot Lot. I finally "found" this group of about 20 families about 2 months ago and have just fallen in love with many of them. I have made great friends in just a few months, and now I'm very sad that we are leaving soon. I wish I had made these friendships back in August when I first moved!

So, if anyone is moving with small children, feel free to PM me and I will get you in touch with the "group." Maybe you won't waste as many months bored and lonely like I did!

Smilekl,
Its really nice that you posted this. I dont have tot aged kids anymore, mine are elementary and high school, but I know those moms who have tot aged kids really appreciate inside info on how to get connected.

smile: The price of getting advice on this board is that you have to write up your story for the "Moving Stories" section! 😉 It really does help others to know this kind of information- what you did and how you might do things differently in retrospect. I hope you will write, because there are frequently people who want to move here with children, and perhaps isolation is something they should be warned about?

That's why I "came back" to the boards. I promise to post my story as soon as I write it up and make it sound pretty. I just thought there may be some moms who check here instead of the stories. But, I promise, EastEnder...I will pay my debt! 🙂
