My growing family in planning to move to St. Croix in the summer, and I have some questions about having a baby in the islands. First I would love to have a home birth, and have yet to find any midwifes on island, are there any that would offer home birthing services? Second question, I will be going back to school probably in the fall of 2008, and will need part time child care for the new baby who will be about 6 months, and also my son who will be 2 and a half at that time, how much can I expect to pay for child care on island, are there good home care and / or day care centers?

I can't say that I remember a name but there is an awsome midwife who works at the hospital. I think there are several there as a matter of fact. You could always call the hospital , ask for the labor and delivery dept. and then ask for one of the midwives and then get your home quesiton answered.
good luck.
