If you require Health Insurance for any of the islands, you should try HealthCare International.
I understand there is a big group covered by them across, St Thomas, St John and a few on St Croix and they get a good discount on their normal premiums.
They are based in London and are an International insurer but apparently they are helpful and their General Manager travels out to the islands twice a year to answer queries and answer any questions.
They seem to be committed to the islands as they have been covering people for about 5 years now and show no signs of leaving like the others did.
I was told that they do not see the US VI as ‘the USA’ and therefore have decided to provide insurance to US ‘expatriates’ living on the islands. Especially as ObamaCare is not being extended to the islands.

As a Canadian expat, I prefer Cigna Global.

Best to check regarding their policies on preexisting conditions.

HealthCare International does not usually cover pre-existing conditions, and if they agree to, then the premium is higher. It's health insurance for the healthy.

Hopefully in the future they will get the Affordable care act to work in the Islands.
