Hello all, I have made it to St Thomas. Your help on all the things needed to move has been great. No power thus no water for the first few days here which added to the challenge. Getting internet, phone with a 340 number and renting a car wasn't too bad. First barrel of tools to be picked up Monday, hope that's not an ordeal. Must one have an actual SS card for some things here? I don't remember when I've had a card it was likely lost in college many moons ago. If any of y'all need the least little thing repaired or help of any kind please PM me and lets talk. Have some work here for my landlady, but need to meet everyone I can so I can afford to eat at the places in Red Hook.

Thank you all so much,
Gerry

Waving from STX. Yes it seems everyone wants to see your SS card. Go to the SS office on STT and apply for a duplicate, bring your passport, driver's licence and birth certificate. Welcome to the VI and good luck and network, network network.

And what exactly IS an "internet phone?" Re: fixing things- some people are going to ask for your business license, liability insurance, etc. 😉

You cannot function in the USVI without a physical SS card. Order our duplicate tomorrow!!

There's either a comma between internet and phone (just not a space), or I need to dust more often!

I am sorry if the punctuation was in error, but I remember that in a list the commas end before the "and" I know there is some disagreement on the subject, but I am just a poor guy trying to make an honest dollar. The nuns and you all will have to sort this out. Is there eneyone in need of honest work at a fair wage?

Did not mean to offend...both I, and East Ender, were affirmiing you did write it correctly! No worries about grammer and punctuation on here. I was just trying to point out that you were NOT saying you had an internet phone.

Welcome and enjoy!

Well, except billd did ask, "what service did you get for your internet phone that had a 340 area code?"
