Dune Buggy on STX

Good Afternoon. I am trying to get some information about getting a Dune Buggy titled and registered on STX. I have a clear title and current registration in USA. It is registered in the state I live as a Hot Rod which means that it is not subject to vehicle inspection or emissions testing. The downside is that it is not be used as daily transport just going to and from car shows etc. I am sure that It would pass the inspection on STX as far as working turn signals, lights, windshield wipers, seat belts, etc but it has wide tires and dual exhaust and I am not sure how tough the guidlines are for vehicles in the Virgin Islands. I would love to be able to register the Buggy for daily driving on STX. Does anyone have any further info that might help me. I would hate to have it shipped down there only to find that I could not use it because it would not pass the inspection. I have seen a Dune Buggy on STX before and I know of several on ST Thomas. Trying to google for info about vehicle inspections in the Virgin Islands hasn't helped. Thanks!

I would think you would be able to register it since it has title and plates form where you are form.
I know there are several of the Myers Manx type buggies on STX that are licensed. There is an older T-Bucket as well.

Film, I hope you can get it registered....its fun to see unique vehicles on our roads.
That being said, please refrain from driving it on our beaches.
Turtles nest all over the island, most of the year.

Hi Beeski. Yeah I know about the turtle nesting and would never drive on the beaches. Will be used and driven with respect while I am on island. I am still researching the inspection thing and have run several searches on this site and found some helpful information. Thanks.

film,
Do you ever go into Princess Hardware? The Ayala family at PH have at least one dune buggy, or more. Very nice guys. I imagine they could tell you about the registration/license, etc.
