Well well well - guess the Juan Luis Hospital can't be too broke if they can afford to pay the new CFO $295,000 a year as a base salary (not including all the perks of a guvaahhment job). I guess it pays to be on the board and make friends. Wonder if anyone vetted the resume properly. I wonder if the individual actually meets the qualifications on the position vacancy notice outlined here:

Not sure where you're reading that figure but it's actually $195,000 and is on a par with salaries in similarly sized stateside hospitals. He isn't new to the hospital. If you read the article in the Daily News it gives information on his background and also notes an increase in pay to RNs to make their recruitment more appealing.
