Hi all. In your experiences do hotel jobs, mainly front desk, etc, pay enough to rent the smallest of apartments and still be able to do a little for fun in the islands?
TIA.

You're probably looking at 8-10 dollars an hour. With a roommate, maybe. Fine dining servers make more.

You will need a second job, or a roommate. To live comfortably in the Islands you will want to make a minimum of $45,000 per year. This will leave you with around 32,000 after taxes, less if you need to deduct insurance. That means you need to be pulling in around $22.50 per hour, or have multiple jobs.

Remember you will also to have a cash reserve on hand in the event of a huricane. Some people will stay on island and some will evacuate to the mainland. That costs money. Hurricane season starts next week.

Hi ya'll,
I am a recent college grad. and have been planning on moving to St. Thomas for awhile. My major was Travel/Tourism and Recreation. Does anyone know how available the jobs in hotels (or related fields) are? When are employers generally looking for new seasonal employees? Any information will really help. Thanks.
