I lived on STX 12 years ago and I knew several people that were involved in house sitting. Does anyone know where I can get information on House Sitting? Moving to STX in July.

Just so you know, most housesitters are called renters. Very few people allow anyone to stay in the home without paying rent unless they are a family member or very close friend.

hmmm. i'm familiar with housesitting. whenever we've gone away we've had someone housesit for us-primarily to look after our pups. others that i know of do the same-some just have housesitters-sans the animals. normally it's word of mouth.

sorry, can't help the original poster...

Thanks for the info, sounds like HOUSE SITTING is still available if you know the right people or connections. Networking is key everywhere you go. Just found out that VI Daily Times has a section for House Sitting so I'll keep checking that. Blue Skies!!

I studied Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hawaii for 4 years and house sat as a means to an end.
I never had to pay anyone to care take their propery or pets: On some occasions, the home owners/pet owners paid me.
THese opportunities do exist. Networking and good references work.
Best, Beth

Thanks Beth, if you hear of anything, please let me know. Do you currently live on STX?
