Does anyone know how much the per diem, weekly or monthly housing allowance will be for the upcoming Hovensa project? We need to submit a proposal to them (for renting to folks they will bring down) but would like to know their parameters so we can work within them... Thanks for any info you might have....

I believe beachy it depends on their level in the structure. The hovensa hotel rate is something like $60ish a night. The middle and upper level management usually get their hosing paid for or a large monthly per diem. You can also give them a call or email them and they should give you the info.

When Hovensa does special projects at times when housing is fully booked on the island, they have been known to pay $300 or more per night for rooms in some cases. The per diem structure goes out the window when it is a short-term effort. The $1500-$3000 per month that many contractors regularly get is for longer contracts. Workers coming in for a few weeks or a month or two wind up paying the vacation rental rate at many properties. Landlords love it if they can take advantage of these occasional times.

"The standard housing allowance for exempt level employees (Grade 5 and up) is $1,500 per month."
