How is the economy/construction?

Here on the mainland we are seeing a rapid rise in foreclosures. My husband is in the construction industry
( home builder) and new construction is also starting to fall off at an increasing rate.

We are considering relocation and would like to get a heads up on new construction on the islands. Are there alot of foreclosures? Is there tons of new construction going on? We were there in '96 and the industry was rather healthy. Just wondering how it is now.

thanks,
The Drakes

It was healthier in 1996 due to Hurricane Marilyn in September, 1995. Let's hope we don't get that kind of construction boom again for a long, long time. 🙂

I haven't heard of a lot of foreclosures but I hope someone with knowledge in that field will chime in.
