after reading this message board i must admit it scares me to move to st. thomas. the thought of being held up or robbed well for a women moving to the islands is scary. is st. john much safer? or do muggings and robberies occur there also? i know alot of these crimes are drug related, but some muggings just happened to people outside there resorts.

I'd like to know the answer to this question, too. And how does it compare to St. Croix, as well? I want to feel as if I am raising my children in the safest place possible. Of course, you can't prevent everything and we need to teach them personal responsiblity, but it still eases my mind to know we are doing the best to protect our children.

THanks, Kat

I don't live on STJ but visit there on a yearly basis. I guess on the overall scheme of things it is safer. On the other hand, I do believe you might find the cost of living a bit higher. Well, a lot higher. So there is that good old trade off.
