Hi everyone!

I may be representing a line from the US there.

My question is how do you receive shipments for business from US companies?

I sent a package recently that was personal and shipped it via usmail- it was a small package.. about 3 bucks to ship.

But I imagine that it is more costly to ship for business.

Are there custom issues with sending shipments to the USVI?

Thanks as always for all your local knowledge.

Ellen

Hello Ellen,

The retail businesses I worked for in the past got most small/medium size and weight packages via USPS (priority and express) and UPS. Some via Fedex.

Large orders and heavy/bulky items were usually shipped via container/sea.

Customs issues/fees exist. (It is affected by value, origin of products as well as other things I am not fully informed about - but it exists).

Ellen,
While I am not an expert on this very complicated subject, I will say that when I need something quickly I ask for it to be shipped USPS rather than Fedex, UPS, etc. to avoid customs delays. There are agents which most businesses use to clear freight through and expedite the process. Island Delivery on St. Croix (you didn't say which island) is a good one. They can probably answer your questions. 340-773-1600. Most shipping fees are based on bulk rather than weight. Good luck!
