How to get from STX to vieques for the weekend

Good night all,

Sorry to sound lame, but was checking on Seaborne to see how to sneak away for an anniversary trip to Vieques, and was unsuccessful. Was hoping I could get some insight on how others have done it. Is it easy just to fly into San Juan and then take the ferry across? Or should I try to get a flight directly there?

I know you all have more experience than me. We have only been on St Croix three years....only gone to San Juan for swim meets and connections

Thanks for your help

Check out Cape Air. You can fly round trip direct from STX to Vieques for about $100 and I think they have daily flights as well.

Not sure why I never think to look at Capeair. You were right! Easy and cheap!

Yes, forget about Seaborne. The really suck. Since the expansion started (by Gary Foss who ran American Eagle into the ground) and the move to Puerto Rico, they've become very expense and very unreliable. If they don't sell enough tickets on a flight, they just cancel it. Now, after expanding way too fast, they are now laying off staff. The $699 deal they;re advertising is a desperate money grab to stay afloat. My guess is that the seaplane service will be discontinued soon. Use Cape Air or JetBlue as much as possible. Seaborne is worse than LIAT.

There is a cool little hotel over there called Le Flamboyant or Flamboyant, not really sure it is a small guest house above a restaurant. It's in Esperanza, lots of cool places to eat within walking distance.

Um. Yeah. If you don't mind that their pilots occasionally fall asleep. WHILE FLYING.

We don't call 'em "Cape Fear" for no reason.

I like Seaborne. And while it's sh!tty they left STX, their new terminal at SJU is MILES better than that fetid, squalid little cesspool of a terminal that AA ran there. And WAY easier to find than Cape Fear's.

IT
