We too are from Kansas City an would like to "talk". We are coming down the 3rd week in October...can we meet up with you and learn from your experiences?

Hello Derek,
That would be my husband Chris and myself. I didn't major in English or Lit or typing, can you tell? 😉 Are you moving in October or visiting to scout out the island? If you dare, wear Chiefs hats or shirts. You will find a Kansas Citian on every cruise, I swear! I grew up in Kansas City, my husband in Mississippi. He is a hockey fan (odd - being from the South) and I am a Wal-mart fan. We move to a place that has neither and after we move we find out that Kansas City is building a hockey arena (by Sprint no less) and the largest Wal-mart in the world. Wal-mart bought the old Blue Ridge Mall and has plans to take over the area with a super duper Wal-mart - what more could they add???
Anyway, feel free to email, however I warn you I have dial up still and am on line less than I used to be. Post as much as possible. So many people just read the posts and learn from everyone else's questions. Our household goods arrived in one piece and not kidding - not one thing was broken. Which in saying that, now one day I will be cursing that I brought all my dishes by truck, by train, by boat to an island unbroken only to make a million pieces of glass on my tile floor. ;-}
Our truck arrived too on island. We are crossing our fingers that we get it tomorrow. More on that when I finish my moving story. I will share as much as anyone wants to know about moving here. The good, the bad, and even the ugly - with a happy ending of course!

Hey - we're in the KC area as well! Just moved here and we may soon be down there. From tornado alley to hurricane alley! My husband and I will be down for a visit the week of October 11.

Email me directly so I dont' have to go through all the messages. My email is [email protected] We will be down the 13-20 for pre-trip checkout. I am trying to buy into a restaurant there where the cruise ships dock called the Delly Deck. Very similar to First Watch as I have worked there for 8 years. My wife and I would love to talk to you if you will be on island then.
