My guy and I are looking into moving to STX and have specific questions I haven't seen addressed here. We do upholstering and antique restoration here in Colorado and wonder how healthy the market is there for it. I saw that people have trouble finding beach/patio furniture, which we can design and build. Besides having many private clients, we've also done extensive work for hotels and restaurants.
My other question concerns race. My guy is black (I'm white). I read the threads about racism and, from my travels, agree that ethnocentrism is often the culprit (not that that's excusable either). I'd like to hear people's experiences about black mainlanders opening small businesses in USVI, and would particularly like to get in touch with some of those business owners. Thanks so much!

As for the race issue and inter-racial couples, they're all over the place here, don't sweat it, come on down, be who you are, exercise "ONE LOVE", give JAH the credit for all things good........................and ENJOY!!!

My wife and I lived on STX for 3-4 years and we are mixed....outside of a few looks, typically from the older people, no big deal.
