In 24 hours our hill on St. Croix has received 12 inches of rain -- that's right, 12 inches. I'm really glad I'm not down here on a one-week vacation -- I'd be annoyed, to say the least. But the cistern is overflowing, I've got a book, food, electricity, and no place I have to be -- so life is good.

It's now 2:06pm on Tuesday. If you're glad you can tread water, you might want to check out this link, to the weather chanel and put the map in motion.......you might want to get a boat!!!!!

Yeah, it is snowing in NH for the second time already and I'll gladly trade places with you. A bad day in paradise is better than a good day in NH. Please remind me why I still live in New England.

Or that white stuff that you ski on.....but then, why not live here and go ski as a vacation, or visit in autumn to see the colors.......but yes, the sun will come out tomorrow and the power is back on after only 6 hours.

Power off for six hours? The last time that happened to me I lost all the pipes in the house. It really wasn't too bad until they started to thaw and we found all the leaks but we were lucky as we weren't home when it happened so we only had to clean everything up. Oh the wonders of a winter in NH. I guess no place is perfect.

Check out the weather channel.com.....just type in your area code and scroll down the page to read what's expected there on St. Croix for the coming 7 days.

Rick, Do you remember the ice storm of--What was it--99? I live in Gilmanton, and we lost power for most of the week. Luckily we had the woodstove, and gas stove for cooking. What a mess!! Trees down everywhere, no power, no water, no phone. Rain in paradise sounds good to me.
