I recently found this board a couple of weeks ago and I have been reading as much information as I can about the island. I was wondering if there are any locals that are willing to help me with more information about the island? There is so much to look into that it can be over whelming. I was wondering if anyone is willing to exchange email addresses so I can get further information.

Thank you so much

There is plenty of info right here on this board. Have you been to STT before?

Look at the "What to Expect" section on the navigation bar above. Peruse thie entire nav bar, as a matter of fact. Then ask your questions!:-)

I'd be really really surprised if most of your questions weren't already answered on this board. It's exciting moving, but take a deep breath and start reading. If you can get through ten pages of the board of day, you'll find most of your answers. You will not find anything out there with as much info as this relocation board. Also the search feature works really well once you get the hang of it or you can just ask the board your questions. Best Of Luck.

MDZ, I agree completely with these posts. I found the forum and ordered "The Settlers Handbook" and "Living in de VI." I read the book, watched the DVD, and searched the Internet before my pre-move visit (PMV). I asked a few questions, and the members of this forum replied with high-quality tips. By the time I arrived in STT, I was well prepared.

The best tip was always to say "Good Morning," "Good Afternoon," or "Good Night" when approaching someone. I encountered at least 10 people a day and always started with a greeting. In every case, I was treated in a friendly manner.

The only problem I had during my 2-week PMV was remembering to drive on the left. But that only happened 2-3 times!

As a college professor, I would just advise folks, "Do your homework." I assume that's what you're doing now by participating in this forum. 🙂 Welcome!
