I am very interested in relocating to the VI after taking a trip to STT. However, my field is Interior Design. Is there a need or a growing market for this area? I have been researching online but have yet to come across info that would help me. Any suggestions or info would be extremely appreciated!

There is an overwhelming need for a great Interior Designer - based on the places that I've seen.
Question I can't answer is - would you find work? I'd like to think so.

Elizabeth: There are several designers and design businesses. You would probably neeed to research in person. I think many designers get work by word-of-mouth.

Hello Elizabeth,
I noticed the AIA VI web site list architectural firms, some of which appear to do interior design as well. So you could try contacting some of those firms and see if you get any leads; maybe see if they are interested in you faxing them your resume. Hope it helps. http://aiavi.org/memberstt1.htm

Hi Elizabeth!
Many owners contract designers from the states to work for them. One of my best friends (who I an bringing with me in June) has a very successful design company in Dallas. She has done many homes in STT and on St. John. You may want to talk to some of the builders, and see who they are working with.
