What is the best internet service on St Croix? I would like to do some online gaming, maybe some downloads.

It depends on where you live. Innovative DSL is reliable within 3 miles of the nearest switch. I use Broad band VI and it's OK. It starts out fast and slows down < bursts. I'm out east really close to an access point. I think the weather can have an effect on the signal.

Your choices are Broadband, Choice and Innovative DSL.

Broadband does not work everywhere, you must be in line of sight of their towers. They told me I was when they set me up and I wasn't.

Choice has a limited area as well, believe is mostly center island. I don't know much about it.

Innovative DSL works anywhere there is a land line. I have Broadband at work and Innovative at home and frankly see no difference. I play games as well and innovative is fine for them you won't have any troubles. With any of them, if you want to watch streaming video like hulu.com you may have trouble at certain times of the day.

Hi and greetings all;

In addition to those services listed by Betty, I have been using Sprint DSL for the last couple of years!!!!
I get great service, mobile operation, and can take it just about anywhere on the island and have up to 3G connection!!!!
It costs the same as all the others, but is usable in other places and countries!!!
Plugs into my USB port with a small adapter, works great.

The problem with sprint and att from what I've heard is that they have limits, I think it may just have to do with downloads but not sure.

All the services listed have better grades of service for more money. However with innovative if you have phone cable and dsl you can bundle and get a discount. We did this and then upgrade to a better level of internet service.

I have both Innovative DSL and VI Broadband. I have to say that during an average day I don't see much difference in terms of reliability (I can't compare speeds as I didn't buy the same speeds on both.) During OMAR though VI Broadband was down while Innovative was fine.
