Is Sandy Point still open?

I saw that the turtles have begun returning, so I figured it was closed. But a friend's visiting this weekend and would like to go there if it's open.

Yes, Sandy Point is still open (weekends only, 10 to 4, as usual).
The Park ranger on Sunday said last day was likely to be Sunday, April 1. That is in line with prior years, closing at end of March.

Thanks! I knew it usually closed around April 1, but for some reason I thought it closed earlier this year because the turtles arrived sooner.

Yes. Drove out to the beaches a couple weeks ago.

Was out there today.
Go slow...
The bush is very overgrown along the road and there are only a few places to pull to the side for opposing traffic.
The beach down by the tip of the point (just past the weather tower) lost an incredible amount of sand. The waterline is nearly up to the tree line.
The last lot was busy. Still a decent amount of sand on the west side, but the same dramatic drop off only a few yards off shore.
It’s still one of the top beaches in the entire Caribbean.
Enjoy!

Sandy Point erodes like that every season....the “tip” should be back by May. Then it starts to erode again.
