I've heard stories about how fabulous the islands are in carib. But 2 particular places are said to be celestial in there beauty, Tortola
and Virgin Gorda. Are these places as amazing as i hear and how does the two islands compare to the night life in St. Thomas? Apprec any thoughts anyone has on this. thanks

I would count St. John in the "celestial beauties", although all of the VI's, both US and British, are spectacular.

Night life on Virgin Gorda?? Watching the stars. Maybe a few bars on Tortola.

Personally, I prefer to live on the island with the most conveniences-- St. Thomas-- and visit the others when I want more tranquility. It's hard enough to shop for groceries and other mundane items on St. Thomas. Very hard on the other islands (St. Croix excepted).

The BVIs close early as in "early to bed, early to rise..." and that's the joy. "Night life" in the BVI is what STT "night life" used to be.

But there again it depends on what you want out of "night life."

If to you it's a hubbub of late-night loud music, chatter and bodies, free-flowing booze and then staggering home either on foot or driving back to your pad, waking around noon and so on, there are certainly spots for that on both STT and STX - and remotely on Tortola.

But if your druthers lean more towards truly enjoying the incredible beauty that still remains in the Virgin Islands, you can find it on any island here, but indubitably more so in the BVI where the residential, street and commercial lights aren't (yet) so numerous and bright that they overwhelm the brilliant night sky and where the noise of traffic doesn't swallow up the gentle sound of the tree frogs and the whisking of the palms.

"Celestial beauty" is truly best seen and appreciated away from manmade lighting which means getting out on the water and doing an overnight or two on a sailboat. Truly a magnificent experience!

Sorry if I rambled on but I could wax poetic about your question for a long time! Cheers.
