Islander (and all of you out there),
This site is such a godsend. I am on it at least 3 times a day. As I am planning my PMV I am also in a program to complete my computer certifications (A+, Network+, and Security+). I thought that since I am going to be here a month and could use toward my credits, I would try to set up a 3 or 4 week co-op(paid or unpaid) with a company on-island(STX).

I can't seem to find certain messages when I search here on both this and the vacation site for Hovensa or Hess Oil. It only brings up a couple of messages that aren't the ones I was looking for. I was looking for one that someone had asked for the website for the local Hovensa website.

I am trying to locate a contact there to discuss a co-op. Also, even though I saw fairly recent articles about a company called Pinnacle Systems that is a computer consulting type place (articles said they did work for Hovensa), I can't find them in the 2005 www.viphonebook.com. Does anyone know anything about them?

If anyone has any contacts for someone looking for a free 3-4 week co-op (read FREE LABOR), please contact me. I arrive on STX June 1st and leave June 30th. I have my resume posted on the job forum on this site. (Linda Adler)

I would also like contacts at the Cruzan Rum factory. I am a 12 + year experienced computer programmer that went back after time off for updated skills. Thought that some of the certs and some updated classes in the new Microsoft .net languages would help.

Now I just want to get some hands-on outside of the lab/class. I think that this would also help give me a true vision of what working and living in the VI is really like. What better way to cement a decision.

Sorry for the long post - but this is a serious decision - life-changing - fulfilling dreams and all.

Thanks to all!

Hello Linda,

You can find the Cruzan Company Contact information at: http://www.cruzanrum.com/contact.html Perhaps they can put you in touch with the correct person on island and give you information on their policies.

You can give Hovensa a call.
