Im currently living in the United States(MD) where ive lived all my life. I am 21 years old and a certified Firefighter?EMT in the states. I would really love to move to the USVI and have the occupation of a firefighter. Can anyone provide any information about the fire department in USVI? Thank you

Go the search engine on this page and type in "firefighter" or something similar. I recall there was a similar question posted several months to a year ago.

April 23, 2007 -- People who have sat and successfully completed the V.I. Fire Service entrance examination but have not followed through are encouraged to apply for vacancies, according to a news release from the Fire Service.
“If you have taken the test, been notified by the personnel division and still have an interest in becoming a firefighter, you must contact the administrative office of the Fire Service immediately," said St. Thomas-St. John Fire Chief Glenn “Milo” Francis.
Some applicants who have passed the entrance examination have not followed through in areas such as:
-- not previously submitting the required document package;
-- not taking the physical fitness test;

-- not getting interviewed by the review board; or
-- not receiving notification of disqualification.
The administrative office of the V.I. Fire Service can be reached at 774-7610. For persons who have previously sat the firefighter's examination, the deadline for contacting the V.I. Fire Service is May 11, 2007.

Isn't the pay pretty low for firefighters? Seems I heard it was, which is a real shame if true.

Hi Terry - My husband and I are also from MD and are planning a move to STX. I was looking at the HOVENSA job openings....www.hovensa.com - and they have an opening for a firefighter - I believe they also help with temp housing and relo fees.

Hope this helps!
