Glenn,

You should search the threads, there's been alot of details on school employment, both public and private. I've heard more about opportunities on STT than the other islands, but that doesn't mean there aren't positions available there also. Don't be disapointed if your calls aren't returned. You'll have to be consistent and hungry for response, it seems they don't take you serious otherwise. You may want to go in person, if possible, and see the schools. Island schools are frequently very different than on the mainland

IMHO, you will DEFINITLEY want to do a PMV, as the public schools are nothing like what you are used to in America. Private schools are OK, but the public schools are quite a shock to a Stateside teacher. My ex-girlfriend moved here and got a job at Cancryn Jr. High as a teacher. She quit after one day and started selling timeshare. Give you any idea?

When we make the move we will also have to decide which school and if I have to homeschool. It all comes down to income. From what I have read public school is out of the question.

Here is a great home schooling web site. I think with the support of other homeschooling parents I would give it a shot.
