Good Morning!!!

I just moved here to St. Thomas with my husband and our 2 kids ages 8 (boy) and 10 (girl). I am just looking for ways to get plugged in so we can meet people and so our kids can meet some other kids their age. I've heard there really isn't sports programs like we were accustomed to back in the states. Any resources or advice you have will be much appreciated.

Also, I will be homeschooling for the first time and I'm a bit nervous!! I already have the curriculum I will be using but is there anything I need to do as far as letting to department of education know? Anything you tell me about homeschooling in general will be great!

Thank you in advance! We are absolutely loving it here so far!!
Lisa

Monday night is "kid's night" at Hull Bay Hideaway - lots of Mums and Dads there with their children of all ages.

The summer program at VIMSPGIA Is open to non-VIMSPGIA students, I believe. https://sites.google.com/a/vimsia.org/vimspgia-international-summer-academy-isa-2015/home/discovery-program-ages-8-16-classes-offered-by-week

There is a home schooling group, but I don't have the information. Maybe someone else can provide that for you.

Welcome to St Thomas!

Here's a link for summer camp programs in STT/STJ:
http://stthomassource.com/content/community/organizations/2015/06/19/summer-camps-and-programs-st-thomas-and-st-john-youth

Isn't there a Facebook page for homeschoolers in STT?

My niece homeschools her son. Think she mentioned other parents she knows that get together that do so. Her son is just a little younger than yours. PM me if interested and will give you her email.

The newspaper specifically listed summer sports programs, and those are not listed on the Source directory.

You really have to check several places if you really want to stay informed. I guess it's like that everywhere now with so many communication outlets.
