Does anyone know or can recommend a landscaper on STX (east end) that i can contact?  Mine moved off island.  Thanks.

We have been using VNR Consulting, Inc. (860-303-7478) because the prior owners had been using them.  I will say they raised the monthly fee by almost 100% when they started billing us.  The excuse was they had never raised their fee with the prior owner for some unknown number of years.  Their work is good but we will investigate alternatives once we are settled, we're seasonal residents.   They come twice a month and it's costing us $550/Mo, it's not a huge property nor is the garden extreme, but the cost of not maintaining can be significant so we intend to keep it professionally maintained.

Sounds like a lot of money!

I pay my yard maintenance service on STT $150 once a month to maintain my property which about 1/2 acre is cultivated.

We've used a couple of services. We're East End STX, too.

Most recently Top Quality Landscaping 340-690-1578

Before that Taylor Harward 210-834-3856

Can't attest to what they will charge you - we mow our own lawn now.

We never had a contract. I think we were charged $150 per cut/minimal edging for about 1/3 acre.

Thanks,

I used to use Taylor but he just left Island again.  I'm finding many are just all booked up and not taking any business, but found Mystical from Frederiksted and will see how he does.

I had to break down and buy a mower recently too. I bought the Honda self propelled model which is awesome. I also have a Stihl Kombi with the trimmer, power scythe, chain saw, edger and blower attachments. That machine really rocks.

I didn't want to have to do my own yard work, but, these "landscapers" can't seem to run a business reliably for more than a few years.

When I move on island I'll try to mow myself, but the slope of the land can make that difficult at times.  Great job with the Honda engine, best out there for sure, worth the extra money.  I have one that is 16 years old, starts on the 2nd pull and i've abused it for sure.
