I haven't figured out how to send a PM so wonder if you could PM me!!! haha
I was just wondering where from Michigan you were from and what kind of work you are doing on the island now. My hubby and I are from Petoskey (south of Mack. bridge) and will be spending the winter on the island working.
Just wanted to write you but couldn't figure out how to PM. Pretty sad, eh? haha

You can email me at lovingadler1@msn.com -
I was born/raised in the Marshall/Battle Creek area, but lived in the Gaylord area (Lewiston to be exact) and Glennie - which is a triangle point between Alpena and Oscoda. My daughter still lives in Lewiston.

I was a computer analyst in the states - writing programs and doing business analysis for mostly manufacturing companies in the Detroit area. Here I work as a purchasing agent for a hotel. I still keep up on the programming by taking online and self-study courses. I've been here a year and a half and would not go back.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi there....:)

I'm from Michigan too. I lived in Midland until we flew down here on the 4th of July. I know of at least two other Michigan couples here (other than the folks on the board) who escaped to STX from MI.

My youngest daughter lives there... and is a senior at Michigan State University. It sure is a small world! 🙂

Perhaps we'll have to do a "Michigan" get-together sometime!

So fun to hear from all of you. Yes, we should all get together in the middle of winter!!!
We'll be arriving on the eve of the 28th (Nov). I can't believe it's just three weeks away now. Wow.
As you can imagine, I've got a huge "to do" list....end of the year tax stuff, etc. It will be a relief when we finally get on the plane!!! THEN I'll be excited!

When? Where at in BC? I was just there the end of August for a whirlwind visit. I still have tons of friends and family. PM me or write me at lovingadler1@msn.com.

What are you doing now? Are you on island?

Gee, I'm from Michigan, too! (Lake Orion, about an hour North of Detroit, 20 minutes North of the Palace Of Aubrun Hills) I guess it's a great place to be FROM, huh? haha! Especially in the winter months! (I'm especially popular with my family during this time of year!) Maybe we could all gather on one island for a reunion of Michiganders! haha!

Yes, we should get together when Michigan is having a huge snowstorm!! BRRRR
We're from way up North but my bro. lives near Lake Orion. Do you ever make it back to visit, Marty?
I do think Northern Michigan is an awesome place and we are blessed to have so much fresh water, but the winters are REALLY long and really hard on me! My hubby and I are really looking forward to a change, though it's still hard for me thinking of being so far from family. But like you said, what a great place for them to visit!

I've only been back to MI 3 timesin almost nine years. Everytime I'm thinking of visiting, when I call everyone to let them know when I am thinking of comng, invariaby one of them says, "NO! You can't come then! That's when were coming to see YOU!" It's like I'm running a hotel out of my place! Haha!
