Good afternoon i was hoping to get some advice about living in st.croix. My husband and I have been living in st.maarten for 3 years and love the island life. We visited st.croix several times and just fell in love with the island and have decided to move there in February 09. I am a nurse(LPN) and am hoping to get a job in the hospital. We would also like to start our own business a sailing charter/and or a tiki bar type place. I have heard a lot of things about Fredericksted some good and some bad but we think it has the potential for new businesses and to help improve the town. I have also read that the cruise ships will be returning in may of 2009? Does anyone know if that's true? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

we have sailing charters down here, many are established so you'd have to set yourself apart in order to make it. Likewise with a bar. Frederiksted, with the cruise ship promise and the hotel/casino thing trying to happen does look promising. we are in desperate need of qualified nurses, you shouldn't have a probelm with that!

Any idea whether the need for doctors is as great as the need for nurses? Specifically ER doctors?
