I am a experienced commercial real estate broker and property manager looking to relocate to the islands and am looking for work.

It will be very hard to find such work from off-island. Many people say they are moving and few really do, so employers generally will not talk to you seriously until you are seated across the desk, face to face.

I would suggest a longish visit to the island of your choice, 2-4 weeks, during which time you can contact some realtors and property management firms to discuss your options.

Good luck

Tgilley, I worked in the same field in Detroit except I was only a commercial property manager. Came here a year ago. I think you will want to change professions. There are no commercial buildings like you probably see in the states. No high rises with commercial tenants. Only condos with residential clients. If a building does have commercial tenants, it only has about four and one of the tenants is the owner of the building. I think you can do good at selling real estate. And that could be any island.
Just MHO...

Lots and lots of realtors/brokers.

I suspect that answers to most of your questions can be found by using the search function on this website and by perusing the USVI's phone book. Here is a link to the online version of our phone book: http://www.viphonebook.com/Main.asp

Happy hunting...

If you want to switch professions, a great avenue is cruise ship business and luxury sales in jewelry/watches. Please PM me and I can give you some more details. We are gearing up for season and one of the most prominent retailers in STT.
