Looking for a nursing job

I'm very interested in relocating to the Virgin Islands, currently own a timeshare on St. Thomas but would like to make being in the Islands more permanent. I have 18 years operating room experience and some out patient and clinic experience. Anyone know of any job openings coming up in my field? Any suggestions on how to go about finding medical work in the islands? I'll be in St Thomas in two months and plan on checking with the medical center there but I'm really interested in St. Croix. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Linda~ There are definitely some OR nursing positions open at Gov. Juan F Luis Hospital on St. Croix. You should contacy Hannifer Britton at 340-778-6311 at Human Resources. We could really use some more good nurses in several areas. Hannifer would be your best bet to get started here.
Good Luck.

The Roy Lester Snyder Hospital on STT is definitely recruiting nurses. I hear about it daily on the radio. Also check out the Charlotte Kimmelman Cancer Center which is right next door.

I forgot all about the new program, Trade! Linda, you can read about it here: http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/index.pl/article_home?id=17604958. Put me down for the finder's fee!! 😉

Thanks so much for the info! I'd be happy to split a recruitment incentive with you if this all works out. I'm really excited about the prospects involved here. Will be checking things out and preparing a resume. Can't believe my luck stumbling onto this website. I'll keep you posted and thanks again!

Thanks for the info Roger, I'm looking into this as we speak. I'm happy to learn there is a hospital large enough to support an operating room on the island. I've seen the facility on St. Thomas, a very nice hospital, and was thinking that is the only large medical institution on the islands. What a great surprise to learn otherwise. Again, thanks for your input and I'll let you know what developes. I'm so glad I ran across this web site!

Linda -

The hospital on St. Thomas (Roy Lester Schneider) just started a major nurse recruiting campaign on 1 Mar. You might even collaborate with a local for a referral and split a $2000 bonus :-)!
