I'll be living on STX in July and am an avid dancer: salsa, ballroom, Latin, country, swing. Does anyone know of places to go to dance that would be ok for a single woman? Could be DJ or live music.

mlobue,
We have lots of places to go listen to music and dance. Mostly beach bars and restaurants.
When you arrive get the Avis newspaper. The brew pub used to have salsa dancing upstairs but not sure if they still do.
I haven't seen any ballroom dancing or swing here.
Here is a web site to check out the entertainment on island. http://www.stcroixcalendar.com/
I think you would like Romanza (cuban band) they play on Friday nights at Rowdy Joes and also Marisol and the drunken dumplins (latin band) Kurt Schindler is great to dance to.
Have fun!

There is a lady who teaches salsa dancing and you do not have to bring your own partner to the class. I can't remember her name, but I think they do a class in Frederiksted once a week and twice a week in C'sted... does anyone remember her name?

Great ideas, thanks! Can't wait to check it out. I'll for sure check out the lessons because that's a perfect way to meet new dance partners & learn more about the dance community.

BTW, if any dancers read this, feel free to PM me so we can get together on the dance floor while I'm there 🙂
