Hello my wife son and myself are looking to move to St Thomas from Buffalo, NY. We are going to explore the island next week and need to know where to go and what to see. I have a ton of questions but this is a start for now if anyone has any insight that would be great

Thank you

Are you in need of jobs? If so, what type of employment are you looking for? Places to live would largely depend on where you find employment. To me, the North side of the Island like the Hull Bay area are the best places to live, quiet, relatively safe and tons of places to rent depending on your budget. If you have never been to the Island, make sure and spend some time down town because as a tourist it's great, but as a local it's a real pain to have to go to down town for things. Most locals try and avoid down town when they can.especially when cruise ships are in port.

You might also check out the local shopping places and what the prices are on groceries compared to where you are coming from like Cost U less and Price Mart. I remember when there were only two grocery stores on St. Thomas which were Pueblo and Grand Union and a little grocery in Tutu called Tutu Grocery if I remember correctly. But you have a lot more choices now a days.

Welcome Greg! If you have never been here and are thinking of living here, I would recommend that you spend your time like you do in Buffalo (minus the snow shoveling LOL). Go to the grocery and look at items you might want to buy. Go to Tutu Mall and see what kind of shopping is available. If you are going to work, look around for possible jobs. Look at schools.

What is it about St Thomas that makes you want to move here?
