My cat has not been seen since 9:00 last night. Very unlike her! She is a Siamese, 1.5 years old, about 6.5 lbs, wearing a leopard print collar with a red heart nametag. Her name is Chorizo.

We are in Estate St. John, just off route 75 (Northside Rd.), just west of Chocolate's BBQ.

I've already called the animal shelter, and put up signs in the vet offices in the area, and a couple of other places. Have talked to most of the neighbors. Any other suggestions welcome. Please be on the lookout for her if you are in the area or talk to people in our area.

340-718-6744, or cell numbers 340-244-1417 or 244-1418.

Thank you,
Juanita

Maybe she found a pal & is out playing? I hope so, anyway. She is spayed, isn't she?

Juanita,

Sorry to hear about your cat. I must live right by you...I about 3 houses west of Choco BBQ. I will certainly keep a look out and will call you asap if I see her. i have three cats myself, so maybe they are all playing together. Hope so!

I'm hopeful for good news for you and Chorizo.

Yes, she's spayed. I don't think she's just out and about. She NEVER misses waking my husband up at 5:00 AM. You could set a clock by her. I'm really not feeling good about this.

Thanks, aquaponics. Sounds like we are very close neighbors. Are you on the same side of the road as Chocolates? I am across the street, 4th drive west.

HAPPY ENDING! She came home on her own. I wish she could talk. Now, the funny part, my husband and I had been out talking to more neighbors and putting up a couple more signs. Got home and started walking the property AGAIN! When we came inside she was sprawled out in the middle of the living room floor (our glass door stays open all day), We both saw her, but for a split second I didn't react. Then..I started saying OMG, OMG, look, look. It took my husband another few seconds to even realize what was going on. I don't know what happened, but the neighbor's dog started barking, and she took off like a light for her "safe place" on top of our closet. That was a new reaction.

Cory,
To go along with Chorizo, my two dogs are named Chuleta and Churrassco. It's a regular Puerto Rican smorgasbord!

Anyway, thanks to all. It was a really sick feeling as my husband put the sign, with picture, on the glass door at Quality as I sat in the car facing it.

I'm so glad she returned!!! North Shore road is no place for kitties, what with all the speeding cars!

Yeah Joan. She's not an affectionate, loving kitty cat. So she was a bit put out by all the hugging, snuggling, petting, gushing over her, etc. It was like stretch, yawn, and put some food in my bowl, you lowly human! She definitely has some "attitude".

Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes,
Juanita

As I was reading this post, I had tears in my eyes. As I continued to read, I was thinking about driving around and looking for your cat. But, then, I read the Happy Ending! We lost our dog quite awhile ago, (before we moved here) and I was a wreck, so I know how traumatic it can be.

Welcome home, Chorizo!

Glad your cat is back, I get pains in my stomach when I hear this kind of stuff. Now you can have a great Holiday season.

Thanks, guys! I tell you, when I looked at that Lost Cat sign on the door of Quality, I lost it. I had been a bit weepy off and on all day, but by that time it had been about 18 hours. We have a lot of dogs in our neighborhood, we're near a major road and she ALWAYS wakes us up. Whew....

On a lighter side, she has been cleaning herself ever since she got home, so I decided to give her a dose of Frontline (I don't usually unless I see a need.). After all, I don't know where the little hussy spent the night. She didn't like that a bit. I let her roam around the yard some, but as I was making dinner, I brought her in and closed the house. I'm getting "looks". I'm sure I will be punished, but I didn't want her to go back to whatever it was that made her stay gone so long. It just occurred to me that maybe she was somewhere she couldn't leave, like in someone else's house. Hmmm? ( We obviously checked inside all of our apartments. )

Thanks again, everyone . Hope I didn't appear to over-react. She really is special to us.

Great Juanita!! I am on the same side as Chocolate. After your kitty posting, i came home and missed on of my three cats. She was gone for about three days. I was hoping she was playing with your kitty in the bush. Finally after three days she came walking up, also like nothing was wrong. I'm kinda used to it with her though. For sure we have 'nuff dogs in the neighborhood, eh!!! All night barking and walking up the main road. I'm surprised I haven't seen more road-kills. For now, i'm knocking on wood!

Our cats are indoor cats, but one of them slipped out. We live up in the rain forest, and we assumed she had gotten killed by a stray dog, or one of the other various creatures here. It was horrible not knowing what might have happened to her. One day, just over a month later, I opened the back door and she came running in... skinny and dirty and covered with ticks, but alive. I couldn't believe it!! We had completey given up hope by then. Makes me wish she could talk so I could hear the story. 🙂
