If they have Facebook, they can try posting on St Croix Pets Lost and Found page. A picture would be helpful, as people tend to assume dogs are allowed out to "wander", rather than being actively sought. And they are much more willing to approach them when told beforehand they are friendly (as you did).

Also, does the puppy have a name? Sometimes it helps them come to strangers more easily if called by name.

Thanks, for the info! I will check on the name & see if he has a picture. Should have asked those questions duh! I know them from my morning walks - his puppy if out runs up to see me & roll over for a tummy rub. Hope we locate her, Mr Marley is sad & has
been looking for her daily.

Craigslist also has a lost and found section.

Not sure on the collar/tags. The yard is partially fenced, but guess when he turned his back for a moment the puppy slipped away.

He can also call all your vets and the shelter on STX to see if anyone has reported finding her or turned her in. Also, he can call the local STX talk shows to ask them to give her description. They are usually happy to oblige.

My neighbor lost his female puppy Monday. She is approx 4-5 mons old white pit mix with tan spots. If you look close her entire coat has a bluish brindle hue. Beautiful, Very Friendly & Sweet girl, please let me know if you have seen her so I can let Marley (her owner) know.

Has the dog been found? There's a photo of a found pup on the aforementioned Facebook St Croix Pets Lost and Found page. The dog in the pic had a long nose and pointy ears. And is white with tan spots. Pup was found out east near the Reef condos. Was wearing a color.

I was just informed the pup on Facebook has been reunited with her owners. Hope it was one in the same.
