Just got back from the time of my life a whole month on St.john>>

Wow the views were incrediable from the F Pavalion .

I had alot of wonderful experiences and they were not all at Maho but of course alot where:)what happens on StJohn stays on St .John.
Alot of great people to work with and party with.

I am in love with St.John and always have been , except this time when I left, I left someone behind whom I love even more than the place. what a feeling ..

As for the work exp , it all depends on who your boss is as with any job.
You just have to take it all with a grain of salt and remember that in a small month this too shall pass.
If I had it to do again I would but I would have done some things different.

To all the staff at Maho a big thank you! and to Papa Joe a special thanks:) any questions please ask

Hello Yolanda,

Sounds very interesting :). LOL. Glad it went well. What type of work schedule did you have, what type of work, how were the sleeping arrangements, food, a popular question is could you work another job and still do the Maho program - so do you think you could have?.

Thanks!!

Yolanda -

I'm also happy to hear that it sounds like for the most part you had a really good experience. I'm going to be at Maho for the work program in mid-August and was glad to hear while there that you had the "time of your life."

It sounds like some things w/ the program you may have done differently? Any advice you could pass on would be terrific. Also, did you end up spending quite a bit while down there for the month?

I'm leaving in just a few weeks and am super excited, but want to be well-prepared as well.

Thanks for the report!
T.J.

I too would greatly appreciate more details on your work experience at Maho. My husband and I talk about this alot and plan to apply for the month work opp within the next couple of years. What's your opinion on doing this when you're beyond your 20s? We'll be in our mid-late 50's or so when we do this, are in excellent health, very active, but wonder if this is really a younger persons program. We've been there several times, understand the accomodations and the heat but still wonder if we'd fit it okay. Thanks!

Hi
If you have the right frame of mind you can fit in anywhere !
besides you dont have to interact with people after work .
You have a husband thats your entertainment, right. and theres always the beach ....lol ...big maho is the better one.
Everyone there is great and there are alot of college kids , but they are so respectful and cool , it will make you wish you were still in college , You can live vicariously thru them . It's all what you make it.
You can stay in your tent 24-7 or the island is one big adventure . There is no right or wrong answer .
