*Good Afternoon,

I plan to relocate fromt he Washington, D.C area to St. Thomas,US Virgin Islands with inthe next few months.
I am a teacher/Social Worker/by trade, Degree holder, and have several years in Event planning. I am in need of employment and housing and not set on doing the same type of work.
Can you give me some starting points, web sites, recommend other Job options as well as when is the best time to apply for jobs.

After visiting the Island, I know it is the place for me and I am certain that I have a lot to offer my future neighbors.

Thank You

I grew up in Potomac, Md. From my experience on this board the best way to get answers is to use the search function for specific topics. It has been a HUGE source of help for me.

Some keywords would be Island Trader, jobs, housing.

Hope that helps.

Hello Dawn,

Well this is the site I would recommend. LOL :), click on Home at the top, left. And then read through the various sections on Cost of Living, Housing, Transportation etc. Also you might get the Settlers Handbook and some other books on living/moving to the USVI. Try http://www.vitraders.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=V&Category_Code=rel for a nice selection.

When you say you aren't set on doing the same type of work; what other types of work might you be considering?
