I've had very mediocre grades and classes throughout high school. Its my senior year and I'm gonna pull them to all A's if I can. But my question is, is it too late to consider going into marine biology at UVI? I'm still going to apply to the school, and any school with the major at that, if they will take me, and my heart is set on marine biology. I really really want to go, but my grades have been....not terrible, but definately not as good as they could have been.

getting into specialty programs at universities is usually competitive, but often is based on your first year or two of grades in college after which you apply to the program you hope to be admitted to. If your grades improve your senior year in high school, that could help with admittance to a university. You will still need to do very well in your undergraduate classes to get one of the coveted slots in a specialty degree program.
