Story in today's Avis hints that there might not be a medical examiner. Acting AG Walker said on Nov 2 they are working on getting "temporary replacements" since the sole examined is "unavailable for the foreseeable future."

SMH.

Like a lot of government jobs in the VI, the pay sucks so its hard to attract talent. Maybe they could get a ME from the Philippines to come.

The government can't attract teachers, police, medical examiners. What other critical positions are vacant?

Should we start a pool to predict the VI government implosion date?

How do you intend to compensate me for the new keyboard I have to buy, since you just made me spit coffee all over this one? For your convenience, I do accept Paypal.

The DN article had more detail than the Avis article, and according to that article (which I read after the Avis article), there is supposed to be a temporary medical examiner who has worked a few days.

Those poor people waiting on autopsies.
