Don`t know what is going on in the local elections(hope for John deJongh).
But I`m pleased what is going on in the states!
Now, this is change I can believe in!

OK, let the slinging begin!

Damm Demos kept the senate.
Well, it would have taken a landslide to get that.
At least our house is in order!

In my opinion the electorate really screwed up this election. They took all their anger and frustration and voted for the wrong people for the wrong reasons. It appears that much of the voting public (at least California and Nevada got it right) voted against their best interests. They are sending people to Washington who have vowed to destroy the middle class and disrupt government.

I understand the anger, but I do not understand why it is directed at President Obama, Pelosi and Reed. From what I read it appears that a very effective 'hatchet job' has been done by the extreme right wing in conjunction with the super rich and their companies and delivered by the right wing owned media. They have loudly and continually 'demonized' these leader's reputations, to the point where many people no longer question the lies and charges. brainwashing?

I hope that eventually some of these voters will start to see that they have been used by the right wing. I hope they take their anger and frustration and finally direct it where it belongs. In my opinion that anger should be directed at the super rich who control corporate America, not the people who are genuinely trying to make things better for you and me.

Why are they angry at obamacare.....see obamacare. Look I'm not democratic or republican. The idea of health care reform is awesome, but we got is going to be a nightmare. And you are seeing the reaction to it. People are not stupid, they are not being mislead as you think hatchet job, they just don't agree with what's going on. Lets face it it was extremely rare to have a house and a president of the same party, I prefer more checks and balances in my govt.

Please though stop treating people like they are stupid or hate mongers or duped because they don't agree with you. Obama used this all though his campaign and it left a very very bad taste in my mouth for him. Would have much rather seen hillary in his seat, see can act radical but is much more moderate in what she actually does. The idea of voting for McCain with Palin on the ticket was a bitter pill as well. Even stateside there is rarely an obvious choice.

We all have the right to agree or disagree, woohoo! But that does not make us "tricked".

My comments were just that, an opinion. I agree with you 100% about the health care reform. Congress and the President did a very bad job of making things better. Unfortunately they caved in to pressure from big pharma, the health care insurance industry and the medical community. What they came out with made almost on one happy. I also blame the Republicans who were often quoted as saying our most important job is not to reform health care, but to defeat President Obama. I hope we get another try to get health care reform right.

I agree that checks and balances are a good idea. However it is not like the President was working with a cooperative congress even within his own party. Both the Democrats and Republicans can be corrupt and incompetent. I cannot disagree with some of the new members who will go to Washington, I am only concerned that we do not really know if they will do the country any good. I have my doubts.

If obamacare was such a good deal, why did he and congress exempt themselves from it?
It is a socialist take over try!

The United States has been a 'socialist' country since the days of Franklin Roosevelt. What do you think Social Security and Medicare are? Yep ..socialist programs. I could name at least 10 more 'socialist' programs' in America. We already done been took over...by ourselves.

I would have supported a total takeover of 'medical care delivery' by the federal government. All too often we want a program from the government but don't want to support it or pay for it. Oh and I didn't see anyone saying that the new medical legislation is a good deal. Congress dropped the ball under pressure from big business.

I'm off to visit my grandkids...see you in a week or so.

We need to offer a alternative to these socialist programs!
We certainly don't need more of them!
we could start with a public option on Obama care & Social Security.
We need to REDUCE these programs, no work, no eat!
We simply can`t afford the socialist entitlements & large government!
The working people find it far too oppressive to carry those who don`t(or won`t).

The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain
the government." - Patrick Henry

The Democratic government may be for the poor(or illegal) & the working class(if you belong to a union or government job).

It also has become the party for corporate welfare!
I`m opposed to all welfare, to the poor or to corporations/banks/insurance companies!
The Republican party is generally for the rich, but when was the last time a poor person gave you a job you could pay your bills on?

As usual, the middle class is screwed.
