Missing Landowner

I am curious how often does it happen that a realtor can't locate a land owner? We are still waiting to hear from our realtor about the lot we looked at wile visiting. I told dh to just plan another trip to look for another lot. Would anyone know the zoning for a propperty where you also could run a business. I would like to run workshops and perhaps offer a small bed and breakfast with that.

Thanks
Iris

As you know, it takes a long time for anything to happen here. Often, someone is off island, holding up everyone else.

I hope you are right. We have been waiting for 3 weeks now. We are not in a hurry. It just would be nice to know that one of our steps to move to the USVI is in place. I already planted my garden in my head 😉 I got one of the books you recommended in the mail last week.

It's not uncommon for folks to go away for a month or so on vacation, especially this time of year. They should have left a contact number of some sort for the realtor!
It's not as bad as me having to wait 7 months for the lien search, because all of the old documents were sent off island to be copied!

Actually my husband just told me they do not live on STX. The left a contact number which was disconnected. The realtor left a message on their cell phone and also send a registered letter via Us postal. Somebody signed for the letter but they can not read the hand writing. There is still the possibility they are on vacation and a relative or house sitter signed off. I am just curious how long something like this can take. Our offer is standing for now. There is an alternative smaller propperty. That one has been on the market for 7 years. We are taking the gamble that it will remain on the market.

You can't escape our Island Time even when you're on the mainland!

We got a call from our realtor today, he recommended to go with our second choice lot. It is smaller but has a better view. We have been waiting to hear from the land owner since July 21. The realtor things by now we should have gotten at least a call from that land owner. I guess I have to make due with a smaller garden 🙁
