I hear conflicting stories about TMobile. Some people who come for visits with their TM say it works great without roaming, but they definitely do not sell their service here.

I think the basic answer to the OP's question is "no".

YES! T-mo does work on STJ (without roaming). It does not have the same coverage as ATT, but it will work in most places. I have ATT living here and my father has T-mo. When he visited he had spotty coverage but enough to make calls (he even had service at Leinster Bay). However for data he was on edge most of the time (no LTE and very little - if any 4g). So for visiting you'll be just fine, living here it wouldn't cut it.

Usually I don't pay much attention to signals when on island, but last trip I did because I was depending on my data plans for internet access.

I have an AT&T cell phone and an older T-Mobile hotspot (up to 4g only). I was surprised to find that the best T-Mobile signal I could get on the east end of STT was only 2g. Not good! I did much better on my AT&T phone wherever I went on the island- even LNS and WE. AT&T has LTE pretty much everywhere in the USVI.

I had read from folks here that T-Mobile uses AT&T's network in the USVI, and the T-Mobile service coverage map states that they use a partner (but doesn't name it and doesn't give the speeds available).
Clearly AT&T limits the speed levels that they share with T-Mobile.

Does anyone have experience or opinion re: Verizon on STX? What I would really like is one device for phone, internet, tv, streaming movies, books. And music! Possible? I am tech challenged so would appreciate any advice. Thx much L

I have AT&T and I get 4GLTE speeds all over STT. I was discouraged from getting T Mobile because of the slower service. I've had no problems with AT&T at all. If you're not under contract you may want to switch. If your phone is unlocked you can get a Go Phone plan with AT&T. I believe you'll get a free SIM card also.

Forget about Verizon in the VI. They charge roaming in about 80% of the territory. They claim they're so great but they will not do business here.
