MOVING FROM MSP TO ST THOMAS....HELP?!?!?

Hi!
I want to move to St Thomas in August. The problem is that I have no place to live or work. I want to find a one bedroom for under $500, is this even possible? I have my bachelor's degree in theatre and 5 years of administrative experience. I would be willing to do administrative work or just about anything. Can anyone help? This has been a dream of mine for a while and I want to make it come true.
Please help?!
Thank you in advance.

I have not seen a one-bedroom apartment in the $500 range on STT. $750 maybe. But most will be in the $800-$1,000 range, I think.

Hello,

You might find a small studio apartment in the $500+ range or a room-mate situation for a little less then $500. Less than $500 for a one bedroom is unlikely if you want something decent in a decent area.

Sounds like you need to do more research to make this happen. Lots of information on this board and site. Ask questions (more specific ones). Order the Settlers Handbook to the USVI shown at the top of this page. Start saving money for the move and settling in period.

You may want to contact University of the Virgin Islands or some of the hotels to see if they have any openings in Admin.
As for a 1 bdrm for $500/ there really is no such thing in an area that you would want to live in. Roommate situations here are very sketchy, unless you move with someone and share. Housing is expensive, so I agree with Islander....do more research.
