Moving in June and need advice

Hey everybody,

After reading several other postings and their responses, everyone here seems pretty cool and friendly and I thought that maybe ya'll could send me some help.

I am planning to move to St. Thomas in June and my girlfriend is planning on moving a month later, after I have things somewhat settled. I did a pre-move visit in February and obviously loved it. I have a great friend (he has been living there for the past 5 years) who called me up in December and told me to get my ass down there and be his first mate on his charter boat. So I went down there to check things out, loved it, etc...now it seems though that the fishing thing might not work out right away (long story).

Anyway, I am still coming down there and it looks like I will need to find other employment, at least till the fishing thing works out, as will my girflriend. We are both college graduates, I have a BA in International Studies, she has a BS in Zoology. I also have my Real Estate Broker's License in Wisconsin. In addition, I have tons of experience in the service industry. I would like to pursue something in those fields (service industry as a last resort), and my girl loves to work with animals. Any suggestions you might have would be wonderful.....We also need to find a furnished apartment.
